Stone Academy

Hybrid career training in Fort Worth: theory online, skills in person, state exam taken in house. Programs run five to six weeks, or sixteen weeks for the full Patient Care Technician track.

Training programs

Each program is hybrid: coursework online, skills practiced in person. Stone Academy confirms current tuition and start dates when you apply.

  • Nurse Aide (CNA)

    5 to 6 weeks

    Learn the 22 state-tested skills and take the state exam in house.

  • Phlebotomy Technician (CPT)

    5 to 6 weeks

    Perform 30 venipunctures and 10 capillary draws.

  • EKG Technician (CET)

    5 to 6 weeks

    Run electrocardiograms and read heart rhythms for clinics and hospitals.

  • Patient Care Technician (PCT)

    16 weeks

    All three credentials in one track: CNA, EKG and phlebotomy.

Moving Stones can pay for your training

Moving Stones is a Tarrant County nonprofit that funds entry-level medical education for students who qualify. Funding follows Texas Workforce Commission guidelines and covers tuition, materials, books and supplies at no out-of-pocket cost. Approved students are referred to Stone Academy to enroll.
